Lady GaGa and Pixie Lott set new Guinness World Records

Lady Gaga has overtaken Oasis to become the artist to enjoy the most weeks in the UK chart.

The singer's debut album 'The Fame' has now spent 154 weeks in the top-75.

She has also been named the most searched for female on the internet in the new edition of the Guinness World Records.

Meanwhile, the late Michael Jackson is the most search for male on the internet, while Madonna is the biggest-selling female act of the 21st century in the UK.

Husband and wife Jay-Z and Beyonce have been named the year's biggest 'Power Couple', earning around $122 million through June 2009.

Pixie Lott has recorded the biggest chart jump, with her song 'Boys And Girls' climbing to number one from number 72 in one week.

Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of this year's records book, said: "Almost two years ago, Lady Gaga and Pixie Lott were not even around so it's amazing they have broken these records.

"Every year, so many new music records are broken."

The latest edition of Guinness World Records 2011 is released today (September 16).

World's Tallest Dog Meets World's Smallest Dog - World Records 2011

Giant George and Boo-Boo were officially measured Wednesday for their spots in the Guinness Book of World Records 2011.

 The world’s tallest dog met the world’s shortest Wednesday in Central Park when they both made their Manhattan debuts to have measurements taken for the "Guinness Book of World Records."

Giant George the Great Dane, who's almost 5 years old, measured 3 feet 5 inches from the ground to the top of his shoulders, and 7 feet 3 inches from his tail to his nose. On the other end of the canine spectrum, Boo-Boo the Chihuahua measured only 4 inches tall and 6.5 inches long.

George is so large, owner Dave Nasser and his wife, Christie, have to be careful to make sure he doesn’t walk near their 1-year-old daughter Annabel because she’s too little.

“He eats about 110 lbs a week,” the dog’s owner, Arizona-based real estate investor Dave Nasser, said.

That’s the equivalent of 30 Nathan’s hot dogs, an official from the Guinness Book of World records pointed out. At 245 lbs, he weighs as much as the average New York Giants football player.

In a stark contrast, Boo-Boo, at 1.5 lbs., is smaller than a slice of New York pizza.

When the tiny toy Chihuahua was born from C-Section, she was a third of the size of the other puppies, said owner and Kentucky resident Lana Elswick, a former Chihuahua trainer.

“She’s lucky to be alive,” Elswick said about 4-year-old Boo-Boo, who has been record-holder since 2007. “She weighed less than an ounce. I had to feed her from an eyedropper because she was too little to nurse.”

The two dogs may be different, but both seemed equally confused at the Guinness Book of World Records event.

“George is really smart, but I think that it even took him a few minutes to figure out that Boo-Boo was a real dog,” Nasser said.

Chilean illusionists broken the World Levitation Guinness Record 2011

A pair of Chilean twins have broken the world levitation record by hovering above the ground for an extraordinary 200 minutes.

Nicolas Luisetti and John Paul Olhaberry staged the event in Chile's capital Santiago to mark the country's 200th anniversary.

The magic twins stunned thousands of passers-by as they floated above the city's streets.

Their only visible support was a post which each had one hand placed on.

The feat, which involved the pair levitating seven metres above the ground, was broadcast on a giant screen as traffic was brought to standstill.

The crowd gathered below suggested a number of different explanations for how the twins may have carried out the stunt, including having some sort of iron bar through their clothing and attached to the pole.

The twins are already considered the most famous illusionists in the country.

The pair have made numerous television appearances in the past and are set to carry out further high-profile events to mark the country's anniversary.

Their stunts are similar to those carried out by U.S magician David Blane who became famous for his extraordinary levitation trick.

Nation-wide celebrations for Chile's bicentenary are set to take place on September 18.
